STAFF

Our Staff are highly qualified, chosen for their background and skills that enhance the program and our activities. All staff members meet the requirements set forth by the State as applicable, including a background investigation. Staff members participate in planned training and education to further their skills in child development and recreation.

Program Director- Amber Bray is a Ridgway resident. She has worked for several outdoor education and adventure programs in Maine, the British Virgin Islands, and Colorado. With these various programs, she lead backapcking, biking, rock climbing, hiking, and service project trips. A certified Secondary Science teacher, Amber brings enthusiasm, knowledge, and experience to Voyager.

Ridgway Site Director- Rose Walsh brings her creativity and love of art to Voyager. The owner of the Coldwater Gallery shares her passion for art with youth at Ridgway Voyager's After School program.

Ouray Site Director - Jo Shields, a Ouray mother and Ouray School Para-professional has been with Voyager for 4 summers. She brings her knowledge of Ouray County, passion for youth, and desire to provide fun programs for kids to Voyager.

Ridgway Site Director - Debbie Hill joined Voyager from Michigan where she worked in the school system as a Para-professional with the construction program. She brings a love of the outdoors, sports, and water to our program. Debbie also works with youth at the Ridgway Elementary School as a Para-professional.

Program Leader - Rissa Robinson has been with Voyager for 3 summers. She brings her passion for rodeo to Voyager youth.

Program Leader - Katrina Thomsen, a parent and pre-school teacher in Telluride will be joining us this summer. Her music and movement experience will be a great asset.

Program Leader - Lauren Hagemeyer just finished her freshman year at BYU Hawaii. She has lots of experience with youth as she has 3 younger brothers.

Program Leader - Jesse Klein is joining Voyager again for his 3rd summer. Jesse's love of travel and skiing help him connect with youth.

Program Leader/Bus Driver - Susan Kovalaske joins Voyager for her 3rd summer. During the school year, she works as a Bus Driver for Ridgway Schools.

Program Assistant - Jake Stone, a senior at Ridgway Secondary School, brings his creativity and enthusiasm to the Voyager staff.

Program Assistant - Oliver Hagemeyer, a senior at Ridgway Secondary School and a member of the Voyager Climbing Team, joins us this summer working for the Summer Enrichment program.

Program Assistant - Arielle Baker is a part time Ouray resident with experience nannying and babysitting. Her organization and enthusiam are a great addition to Voyager.
